For the first quarter of 2010, season 1 of Jersey Shore was the highest-rated original cable series among 12- to 34-year-olds, with a season-high 2.6 rating for the finale.[1] The season also ranked #1 for its time period versus all cable competition among 12- to 34-year-olds.[1] The season finale was MTV's highest-rated original series telecast in almost two years.[1] Overall, the season averaged 2.7 million viewers.[2] The season featured five special episodes, including a half-hour show titled Jersey Shore: After Hours hosted by Julissa Bermudez which aired occasionally after select episodes featuring cast members discussing the week's episode.

On January 29, 2010, MTV announced that a second season of the series consisting of 13 episodes had been ordered and would air in Summer 2010.[13][14][15] MTV announced that the second season would follow all of the first-season cast as they "escape the cold northeast and find themselves in a new destination".[13][14] The second season was shot in the South Beach neighborhood of Miami Beach, Florida from early March to late May 2010. The second season began on July 29, 2010.[16][17] For Season 2, the After Hours specials were expanded to one hour and received Top 15 Weekly Cable ratings. Like season 1, this season featured special episodes titled Jersey Shore: Hook-Up. Like Season 1's episodes, these are hosted by Kenny Santucci from the Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Fresh Meat and shown on MTV.com.

Season 3 was shot back in Seaside Heights, New Jersey over the summer;[39] filming began on July 25, 2010 and ended on September 4, 2010.[40] On July 20, 2010, MTV announced that the entire cast will return for the third season, with the exception of Angelina Pivarnick.[41] Angelina was replaced by Deena Nicole Cortese, a longtime friend of Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and a self-described "blast in a glass".[42]

Although the season is widely reported and regarded as the third season of the show, MTV refers to it as a continuation of season 2 on their website.[43] Season three premiered on January 6, 2011 to 8.45 million viewers, making it MTV's highest-rated telecast.[44] The second episode of the season once again set a series and MTV high, with 8.56 million viewers,[45] only to set another record with the airing of the fourth episode, which garnered 8.87 million viewers.[46]

MTV renewed Jersey Shore for a fourth season on January 24, 2011. It was the first to be shot overseas, this time following the cast in Florence, Italy.[62] Filming went from May to June 20, 2011[63] and the fourth season premiered on August 4, 2011. The fourth season aired for 12 episodes and finished airing on October 20, 2011.

Jersey Shore was renewed for a fifth season. Filming started a week after returning from Italy on June 27th, 2011 to August 1st, 2011.[76] It premiered on January 5, 2012 and follows the cast returning to Seaside Heights, New Jersey after spending the fourth season in Italy.

The roommates struggle to adjust to life at the shore without Vinny, while The Situation confronts his own internal demons. But it's also Pauly D's birthday -- and he gets the best present of his life! Mike deals with jealousy and storms out of the house.

On March 19, 2012, MTV confirmed that the series would return for a sixth season at Seaside Heights, with the whole cast returning. Snooki, being pregnant, lived next door to the shore house.[87] On August 30, 2012 it was confirmed that Season 6 would be the final season of the show.[88] Jersey Shore Season 6: The Uncensored Final Season was released on DVD, March 19, 2013.[89]

In this season, they head to Miami as they explore the night clubs there, while drama explodes in the house that will leave scars showing. What could they be? What could have happened to leave scarring? This season happened in a few months after season one had ended in 2010.

Jersey Shore Family Vacation was missing a meatball when its second season premiered on Thursday night, and now fans might be worried that the cast will be down a member all season long. As we watched Snooki, JWoww, Vinny, Pauly D, Mike, and Ronnie descend upon Las Vegas for the second part of their family vacation, Deena was notably absent from all the fun. So now you might be wondering, is Deena in Jersey Shore Family Vacation Season 2 at all? We actually did see a bit of her, but she did not make it sound very likely that she would be coming to Vegas to party with her castmates.

After that short appearance, Deena was completely absent from both premiere episodes, which was probably a good thing for her since the rest of her castmates were getting pulled into the cyclone of Ronnie's scary relationship drama. But just because Deena sat out of the premiere, that does not mean we won't see her on the show later in the new season. You can actually catch a couple glimpses of Deena in the teaser for the upcoming episodes of Jersey Shore Family Vacation: Part 2 that aired at the end of Thursday night's premiere.

The teaser clip shows Deena reunited with her castmates a couple of times in the upcoming season. We see her dancing with Angelina at a club and rolling around on a motorized scooter when the cast goes back to their original home of Seaside Heights, New Jersey, later in the season.

The clips also teased that the cast would attend a gender reveal party for Deena's baby at some point this season. Spoiler alert for that party: Deena has already announced that she is having a baby boy, whom she and Chris Buckner are naming Christopher John. Deena's due date is sometime in December.

So, clearly, fans do not have to worry about Jersey Shore Family Vacation losing a meatball this season, although it does seem like there will be considerably less Deena in the new episodes due to her pregnancy. But the cast seems ready with a replacement. Angelina appears to be a big part of the new episodes, popping up almost as much as every other cast member in the season teaser. Although she appeared to make her peace with her former castmates during Season 1 of Family Vacation, JWoww made it clear that she is still not a fan of her longtime rival in the Season 2 premiere. I can already feel the drama!

Like a flock of Ed Hardy-clad ducks, the ''guidos'' and ''guidettes'' of Jersey Shore have flown south for season 2. But don't worry, the core elements of what made Shore so fun its first season -- read: partying, tanning, fighting -- are in full effect.

One of these original series premieres was Floribama Shore, from Jersey Shore creator Salsano. Recently renewed for a second season, it is one of three new MTV reality series from the prolific producer, along with the upcoming Jersey Shore Family Vacation and Winter Break: Hunter Mountain.

The original Jersey Shore cast members were only supposed to appear in season one. However, the OG cast really brought the drama. Season one was filled with controversies that kept viewers tuning in. The OGs became fan favorites and this is why they ended up continuing on for the rest of the series. When a majority of the roomies returned for the spin-off series Jersey Shore: Family Vacation in 2018, they did not disappoint. They entertained fans with their humor and arguments, just as they had on Jersey Shore.

When the roommates first entered the shore house in 2009, they were anticipating a summer of partying. They may not have expected the show to be an instant hit. All of the show's cast members became stars, virtually overnight. Jersey Shore viewers loved the cast, including Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, and Pauly D. Fans appreciated their fun and wild personalities. The show was an instant pop culture phenomenon. Over the years, the cast members have leveraged their reality TV fame to build successful personal brands.

Since the cast members are beloved, it is hard to believe that the original eight roommates weren't meant to be a part of the second season. Production's initial plan was to bring in an entirely new cast for the second season. Those cast members were supposed to stay in the same shore house and work at the shore shop. This is why producers weren't too upset about Angelina Pivarnick's sudden departure from the house in episode three. As viewers became more interested in the original cast, producers rethought their plan. They ultimately decided to have the same roommates return for the second season. Since Snooki, Pauly D, and Mike were the most popular, they were able to access pay increases. After they got raises, they earned more than the rest of the cast.

Because fans wanted more content featuring the OGs, production wanted to give them new episodes as soon as possible. Originally, producers had planned to film the second season during the summer. However, producers decided to move faster. They settled on a new filming location, which was Miami, Florida. This change in location made it easier to film the cast during the winter. This allowed the new episodes to premiere sooner.

Due to the success of season one, security had to be improved in order to protect the now-famous cast members. The Miami house featured a 10-foot gated walkway, which led from the street to the house. This walkway kept the entire cast safe. It was a buffer zone that protected them from paparazzi and the press. Outsiders had to sign permission forms before entering the house.

If the Jersey Shore production team went with its original plan to recast for the second season, everyone's favorite roommates might have been forgotten soon enough. The show has definitely changed the lives of the eight OG roommates. Although they still love a good night of partying, most of the cast live low-key lifestyles these days. Many of the show's stars have kids of their own. 041b061a72
